Summer 2026 Brides – When Should You Start Shopping for Your Wedding Dress?
If you’re getting married between June and September 2026, here’s something important you need to know about your wedding dress timeline…
Most brides are surprised to learn that bridal gowns aren’t usually taken home the same day. Bridal boutiques, like ours, keep sample dresses for you to try on, but your chosen gown is then specially ordered in your size (and sometimes your preferred colour).
This process takes time – usually 6–9 months for your dress to be made and delivered, plus extra time for fittings and alterations. That’s why it’s so important to start early.
✨ Here’s the ideal timeline for Summer 2026 weddings:
September 2025 – December 2025 → The perfect time to start shopping for your dress.
By December 2025 → If your wedding is before August 2026, you should aim to have your dress ordered by this point.
By February 2026 → If your wedding is later in the summer (August or September 2026), this should be your latest order deadline.
We do offer a small selection of off-the-peg gowns that you can take home the same day, but options are limited, and sizes/availability may not suit everyone. If you want the full choice of styles, sizes and customisations, it’s best to order in plenty of time.
This way, your gown arrives with enough breathing space for fittings and final tweaks. You don’t want your dress turning up just a week before your wedding!
